Enchanted House, based in the heart of Cornwall, in the UK, still hand cast authentic Victorian beds that are manufactured exclusively in a factory using traditional hand forging techniques.
Working with original designs, they use Victorian gravity casting methods to produce iron beds that will be “the antiques of the future”. Each bed is unique because not only does Enchanted House hand produce its brass beds & iron beds to the individual specifications of each customer, but also each bed has a unique number and is signed and checked before it leaves the factory. British Beds Worldwide ensure this process is as rigorous as possible as they will be overseeing the entire process, from factory to bedroom, regardless of your location.
These brass beds & iron beds can be supplied as a bedstead, bedframe, bed-surround, headboard, four-poster or half-tester bed. The no nuts and bolts beds have authentic Victorian cast knuckle fixings creating an amazingly sturdy bed that will last lifetimes.
As well as the four UK standard sizes: single 3ft (90cm), double 4'6" (135cm), king size 5ft (150cm) and super king size 6ft (180cm), Enchanted House can make special sizes up to 7ft square in up to 20 colours.
Single beds fit a single 3ft (90cm x 190cm) mattress, double beds fit a 4ft 6in (135cm x 190cm) mattress, king size beds fit a 5ft (150cm x 200cm) mattress, super king size beds fit a 6ft (180cm x 200cm) mattress.
The overall heights of the head and foot end of each bed can be adjusted, and the height of the side rails can be adjusted to allow for different bed bases. Most bedstead models are also available as headboards, four posters, half-testers and bed-frames to go around an existing divan bed). Iron beds can also be supplied with no foot end.

All iron beds are supplied as standard with beech sprung slats, options including firm and sprung platform bases. All beds are available to special order with made to measure height, width, length and height of side rails for base options. Height measurements are to the top of any brass ornamentation.
