| The uk has a long history of

fleet, the success of the young Company was assured.
Hypnos has been manufacturing luxury handmade
beds using traditional methods for over four generations
and is renowned around the world as the expert

in the USA as box-springs). Proud holders of the
Royal Warrant of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II, Hypnos

The customer is flown to the UK, met at a local
airport by a British Beds Worldwide director and
then driven to one of the worlds leading bed manufacturer's
showroom to spend a while lying on the best or most
comfortable beds in the world before making their
final choice.
Roger Charles, Director said. "We can deliver

almost anywhere and you don't even have to leave

Worlds Most Prestigious
Beds to Showcase at London Olympia Expo |

‘Eminence’ and ‘Emperor’
conjure up thoughts of luxury, comfort and opulence and
that’s exactly what will be on display at the GCC
(Gulf Cooperation Council) Euro Expo on 12th and 13th
November at the London Olympia thanks to British Beds
Worldwide.
The Expo will include over 150 companies from the Gulf
region states of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia
and the United Arab Emirates. Among the UK exhibitors
will be British Beds Worldwide displaying the world’s
best in British pocket sprung beds.
The two day GCC Europe Expo aims to facilitate bilateral
trade and investment and to help forge thousands of
new commercial relationships between European and Gulf
State businesses. Whilst providing a showcase for goods
and services from the GCC, Europe and the UK, the Expo
will also deliver a wide range of back-to-back seminars
to inform, educate and promote bilateral trade.
With such an audience British Beds Worldwide will be

Olympia.

The Relyon Emperor has over 3400 pocketed springs in

felt, lambswool, hand-teased merino wool, cashmere,

The mattress is supported by a deep divan with 1000
pocketed springs and a further two rows of hand side-stitching.

First France…
Three years ago a new company - Charles-McGrail Ltd trading
as British Beds in France - was created to supply and
deliver high quality traditional pocket-sprung (box-spring)
beds and mattresses, and hand-made metal and wooden bedsteads
to ex-pats living in France who missed the incomparable
benefits provided by a British pocket-sprung bed (box-spring)
or mattress.
Then Europe …
After a while the company was receiving requests from
customers in other EU countries including Germany, Switzerland,
Italy and Greece to name just a few. All our contacts
wanted the “good night’s sleep” only
British beds seem able to offer. The company changed
its trading name to British Beds in Europe and was soon
delivering best quality British beds and mattresses
to destinations as far apart as Athens, Faro, and Stockholm
and many points in between.
More and more enquiries arrived from Zurich and Geneva
and other Swiss towns and villages, and so commenced
the true export of high-quality beds from Britain to
countries outside the EU with full completion of customs
formalities.

From this European base was created, on 1 September
2008, with a bigger bang than the then news-sharing
Large Hadron Collider was producing, British
Beds Worldwide Limited.
Its tasteful and professional new website features
images and details of luxurious pocket-sprung beds and
mattresses of the highest quality from three of the
UK’s leading bed manufacturers (Relyon, Hypnos
and Millbrook); and ranges of handmade metal and wooden
bedsteads from west-country manufacturers (Enchanted
House and Cotswold Caners).
It’s a website, Jim, … but not
as we know it.

of any other retailer offering a truly worldwide service.
Working with long-established shippers and local couriers
sourced through the shippers, UKTI and / or the trade
sections of British Embassies and Consulates, British
Beds Worldwide will aim to arrange delivery anywhere
in the World. There may be three levels of service:
into the customer’s bedroom, “kerbside”
(to the pavement outside the property) or to the port
of entry to await collection within seven days by the
customer or his appointed agent. Wherever possible British
Beds Worldwide will offer a choice between all three
