Three years ago a new company - Charles-McGrail
Ltd trading as British Beds in France - was created
to supply and deliver high quality traditional pocket-sprung
(box-spring) beds and mattresses, and hand-made
metal and wooden bedsteads to ex-pats living in
France who missed the incomparable benefits provided
by a British pocket-sprung bed (box-spring) or mattress.
Then Europe …
After a while the company was receiving requests
from customers in other EU countries including Germany,
Switzerland, Italy and Greece to name just a few.
All our contacts wanted the “good night’s
sleep” only British beds seem able to offer.
The company changed its trading name to British
Beds in Europe and was soon delivering best quality
British beds and mattresses to destinations as far
apart as Athens, Faro, and Stockholm and many points
in between.
More and more enquiries arrived from Zurich and
Geneva and other Swiss towns and villages, and
so commenced the true export of high-quality beds
from Britain to countries outside the EU with
full completion of customs formalities.
And now, delivering quality British beds
to the World!
From this European base was created, on 1 September
2008, with a bigger bang than the then news-sharing
Large Hadron Collider was producing, British
Beds Worldwide Limited.
Its tasteful and professional new website features
images and details of luxurious pocket-sprung
beds and mattresses of the highest quality from
three of the UK’s leading bed manufacturers
(Relyon, Hypnos and Millbrook); and ranges of
handmade metal and wooden bedsteads from west-country
manufacturers (Enchanted House and Cotswold Caners).

not as we know it.
